Our Process

BWS follows a very organized and deliberate process in order to ensure that your waste is properly picked up and handled.  Below we outline the process so that you can be better prepared for us.

Step 1

Set up your service frequency or call-in for a pickup.

We can provide a service calendar for your yearly pickup schedule. Please ensure you order the proper supplies (if any) and/or request any additional services at that time. We are available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with no automated phone systems.

Step 2

Ensure your waste is properly packaged according to all state/local and federal regulations.  Click here for instructions on how to package medical waste.

Line your medical waste container with the red bio-hazard bag, dispose of only medical waste in the red bag, gather twist and tie the red bag, seal your medical waste container, and check the medical waste container’s markings. Be sure to mark any pathological waste or trace chemotherapy waste for incineration. Pathological waste and trace chemotherapy waste for incineration is to be packaged separately from other red bag waste that is not destined for incineration.

Step 3

The technician (driver) arrives at your facility on his/her next available fuel efficient route.

Show the technician where the waste is located. Ensure the manifest is correctly completed with applicable number of containers. Sign the generator certification acknowledging all contents are properly classified, packed, and labeled.

Step 4

Your waste is transported to one of our approved treatment facilities.

Our technician carefully unloads all your waste at the approved treatment facility. The treatment facility signs the manifest indicating the waste has been properly treated according to all local, state, and federal regulations.

Step 5

Final step

Once your waste is treated, your manifest arrives back to our corporate facility. An invoice is generated and sent along with the manifest to your facility for prompt payment.

If you have any questions regarding our process, please feel free to give us a call or fill out our contact form.
