Silver Reclamation   

Silver is a heavy metal. It is an EPA listed hazardous waste (D011) for toxicity.

The EPA and Maryland Department of the Environment consider BWS to be a Destination Facility for the recovery of silver. We transport liquids containing waste silver, such as waste from x-ray fixer, under a hazardous waste manifest [Documentation] to our secure Baltimore warehouse. There we process the liquids in our electrolytic recovery unit and extract the toxic silver.

BWS also disposes x-rays with silver waste, recovering the silver to prevent toxic landfill contamination and destroying confidential information as part of its overall HIPAA compliance program.

BWS can also install and maintain in-line silver recovery systems.
