Special Medical Waste   

BWS provides comprehensive infectious waste disposal services to over 5,000 generators each month.

BWS provides all sizes of wall, desktop and floor sharps containers. We also provide a complete range of medical waste containers, including cardboard boxes with plastic red bag liners, toters and carts – whatever packaging system the generator prefers.

BWS develops a customized medical waste management plan for each client. The plan is designed to:

*reduce the amount of waste
*ensure regulatory compliance
*strengthen infection control procedures
*optimize collection schedules and equipment to provide superior client service

Special Medical Wastes are defined under federal and state laws to include any potentially infectious material whether it is liquid, semi-liquid or dry. This includes material that could be potentially infectious during routine handling, such as under compression; as well as pathological or microbiological wastes and contaminated sharps.

Contaminated sharps should be discarded as soon as feasible in closable, puncture resistant, leak proof and labeled containers.
